What we provide and how we work
We have answered the most common questions about UK warehousing, order fulfilment, tax and e-commerce.
Using HUBHAUL for warehousing gives you access to more competitive shipping rates. Our volume discounts and economies of scale help you secure significantly lower transport costs for your orders.
Lower storage costs reduce your overall operating expenses. Flexible use of space and shorter preparation times also help minimise labour costs.
It is a service in which your products are stored in our warehouse, then labelled and sent to your customer as sales are made through Amazon.
FBM (Fulfilment by Merchant): This is end-to-end order management for sales on online marketplaces, covering order receipt, packing, labelling and dispatch.
The FHDDS (Fulfilment House Due Diligence Scheme) is a UK scheme designed to ensure that fulfilment businesses meet their tax and customs obligations. It covers businesses that store and distribute goods arriving from overseas.
The scheme requires these businesses to comply with tax and customs law and maintain specified due-diligence checks and records. Businesses that fail to meet the requirements may face penalties or lose permission to operate.
Anyone with a UK-registered company can register for VAT.
If you live in the UK, you are exempt from paying VAT on trading activity up to the annual threshold of £85,000.
VAT registration is mandatory for people with NETP status. This includes anyone who has a company in the UK but resides outside the UK.
In the UK, NETP means “Non-Established Taxable Person”. To continue trading, you must have an active VAT registration and be registered as a taxpayer.
Trading without a UK company is contrary to UK regulations. If products are arriving only to be labelled and forwarded to Amazon or another marketplace without being stored, HUBHAUL may be able to help. Under UK rules, customers receiving fulfilment services must have a UK company and VAT and EORI numbers.
EORI and VAT registrations are required when a company is formed or carries out commercial activity in a country. If you have a UK company and trade in the UK, you must obtain EORI and VAT registrations.
An EORI number identifies a business for customs procedures when goods move between countries; without one, goods may be delayed at customs. VAT registration becomes mandatory when the applicable turnover threshold is exceeded.
Businesses that are not established in the UK are treated as NETPs and must register for VAT under HMRC rules. We cannot provide warehousing or fulfilment services to a company that does not have the required EORI and VAT numbers.
